SNF Celebrates First 100 Years
This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Serb
National Federation's service to our people in North America. It
is a moment in time all Serbs should cherish. We not only celebrate
the centennial of the oldest and largest lay Serbian body on the
continent, but its own development and growth, which so closely
mirror that of our forefathers here in the Americas.
Ironically, this great celebration of our ancestral
passage in America comes at a time when we suffer from the latest
demonization of Serbs. All the more important we work to bring our
people together, linked by the rich legacy of our departed pioneers
and the stewardship of our beloved Savez.

The
Beginning
At the turn of the 1900's, the Savez stood as a rallying point to
insure the cultural and social freedoms of our ancestors in the New
World. We were the first to extend a helping hand and assist Serb
immigrants in establishing themselves with a secure foundation for
their "new journey".
Whether supporting the colonization and construction of Churches,
which nourish our spiritual lives, or providing the venues for the
largest Serbian social and cultural gatherings . . . the service pledged
by the SNF a century ago, endures today.

Our
Future
If there were ever a time to rebuild the pride, honor and spirit of
our people, it is now. The SNF stands poised to begin its second century
of service to the Serbs in North America and our Centennial Celebration
in July begins that new commitment.
Those attending our weeklong celebration in Pittsburgh, the week of
July 16th, 2001 re-lived the Serbian-American experience culturally,
spiritually and socially in many interesting and entertaining venues.
This historic celebration was the largest and most comprehensive event
ever staged as a tribute to the rich legacy of Serbs and the Serb
National Federation in America.
We encourage all Serbs to come together now more than ever. Be proud.
Honor our forefathers and do your part to ensure a bright future for
all Serbs for generations to come.
Stay tuned and involved in sharing this proud moment of reflection,
anticipation and rededication for all Serbs.
